NYC Food Trucks is a static website. No accounts, no ad trackers, no analytics pixels, no selling your data to anyone. Reviews you post stay on your own device. That's it.
Who we are
NYC Food Trucks (nycfoodtruck.com) is an independent directory and review site for food trucks operating in New York City. Contact: hello@nycfoodtruck.com.
What we collect
Almost nothing. Specifically:
- No user accounts. You don't sign up, log in, or give us an email.
- No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, or any third-party tracking script.
- No cookies beyond what your browser sets by default for the domain.
- Reviews stay local. When you post a review through "Drop a Review," it is saved to your browser's
localStorageunder the keynycft_reviews_v1. It never leaves your device. - Location is opt-in. The "Near Me" button asks your browser for your location and only uses it to pan the map. We don't store it.
What our hosting provider sees
Our web host logs standard server request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL requested) like essentially every website on the internet. We don't analyze these logs; they exist for security and debugging only.
Third-party services we load
Your browser makes requests to a few outside services when you use the site:
- CARTO basemap tiles — map background imagery. See CARTO's privacy policy.
- NYC Open Data (data.cityofnewyork.us) — live Mobile Food Vendor Permits data. See NYC.gov privacy policy.
We use no CDN-hosted fonts or libraries — everything else is served from our own origin.
Permit data
"Verified NYC Permit" badges and permit search are powered by the public NYC Open Data Mobile Food Vendor Permits dataset. That data is published by the City of New York, not by us.
Clearing your reviews
Reviews live in your browser. You can delete them any time by clearing site data for nycfoodtruck.com in your browser's settings, or open the browser devtools console and run localStorage.removeItem('nycft_reviews_v1').
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone — including minors.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and note what changed. If the site ever adds accounts, analytics, or anything else that collects data, this policy will be rewritten before that happens.
